Handmade Burgundy Chenille Tudor Stays

Tudor corsets, also known as stays, were designed to create the classic conical shape of the 16th century. Unlike the curvy shape created by Victorian corsets, Tudor stays create the cone like shape that is typical of this historical period.

This lovely chenille fabric is a deep burgundy color with gold accents in a brocade design. The first photos show the fabric, and the last photos show more details of the same style in a different fabric.

This style features waist tabs for accentuating the waist, adjustable shoulder straps, and back lacing for a perfect fit. Rows and rows of boning cover the front to create a stiff and supportive shape.
